On August 17, 2018, a flag hoisting ceremony to commemorate the 73rd Anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia was held in the premise of the Indonesian Embassy in Helsinki.
The ceremony was led by Mr. Widya Airlangga and acting as the Ceremonial Counselor was the Indonesian Ambassador, Ms. Wiwiek Setyawati Firman. Present at the flag ceremony were Mr. Heldur Allese, Honorary Consul of Indonesia in Estonia, Indonesian Women Association (DWP) of the Indonesian Embassy in Helsinki, and representatives of Indonesian Students Association Finland, as well as representatives of Indonesian communities in Finland and Estonia.
During the 73rd Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence this time, the Satyalancana Karya Satya Award was given, namely a sign of appreciation given to civil servants who have served for 10 or 20 or 30 years. The award was symbolically handed over by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Mr. Patrick S. Hasjim and Ms. Herliany Yuswanita.
As a form of gratitude for the 73rd Anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, after the flag hoisting ceremony, a piece of tumpeng cutting was given to Ms. Mis Ellysmar Azinur and Mr. Reijo Lainela as representatives of the Indonesian community in Finland and Estonia. The flag hoisting ceremony were closed with gathering with the Indonesian community in Finland as Estonia.
Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Hemas, Queen of the Kingdom of Yogyakarta, a special region in Indonesia, along with a delegation, visited the Estonian National Museum in Tartu and University of Tartu on Thursday, 26 April 2018. The aim of the visit is to have a look at Tartu, discuss possible cooperation as well as introduce Indonesia.
Indonesia’s Honorary Consul in Estonia, Heldur Allese, accompanied the delegation. On the visit to the Estonian National Museum in Tartu, GKR Hemas and the delegation were welcomed by the Museum Director, Mr. Alar Karis, and Mayor of Tartu, Mr. Urmas Klaas. The visit begins with a tour of the museum to learn and obtain input on museum management and how to maintain and maintain the heritage of Estonian culture and traditions. The tour then proceeded with a lunch meeting attended by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Tartu.
The visit continued with a meeting with University of Tartu, represented by the Chairman Council of University of Tartu, Mrs. Ruth Oltjer; Acting Chancellor of University of Tartu, Mr. Tonu Lehtsaar; Vice Chancellor for Development, Mr. Erik Puura; and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Mrs. Anneli Saro. On that occasion, Mr. Tonu Lehtsaar said that he felt very honored for the arrival of Mrs. GKR Hemas and the delegation because it was the first time an Indonesian delegation visited University of Tartu. University of Tartu welcomes every opportunity for cooperation with Yogyakarta, especially with Gadjah Mada University which is the national and one of best university in Indonesia.
There are currently 3 students from Indonesia studying at the University of Tartu. Exchange of the students and teaching staff of the University of Tartu and Indonesian universities is supported by the Erasmus+ program.
The Indonesian National Badminton Team for Finnish Open 2018, made a courtesy call to the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Helsinki, Mrs. Wiwiek Setyawati Firman, at the Ambassador’s Residence, 3 April 2018. The Team led by Coach Nova Widianto expressed their gratitude for the Ambassador’s and the Embassy’s staffs hospitality and helpfulness during their stay in Finland.

To qualify as a country worthy of investment, certain standards must be met.
A World Bank Group report highlighted four factors – the country’s people, environment, relationships, and framework – that propel both individuals and corporations to invest in a given country’s natural resources, markets, technologies, or brands.
Guided by the report from the World Bank Group, U.S. News identified the best countries to invest in for 2018 with Indonesia in number 2 after the Philipines.
